I’m new to freelance editing. How should I start building my network?

There are many ways to start building your network, but before you start building it, it’s important to know who you are, what work you like doing, and where your potential clients are. Reading and learning about what other editors do can be incredibly helpful. On our Resources page we’re building a list of recommended books, organizations, and websites you can look into to identify where you need to be (and of course, our book will walk you through this process, one step at a time too). Appendix D: Organizations in Networking for Freelance Editors also has a great list of organizations to explore. Check back soon for updates to the Resources page.
